Delhi Assembly faces uproar; Oppn stages walk-out
New Delhi, Mar 29: The Delhi Assembly on Wednesday, March 30 witnessed uproar after MLAs from Opposition BJP attacked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over some civic projects and the AAP leader's accusation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi "surrendered" to Pakistan by allowing its investigators to probe the Pathankot attack.
The uproar started in the afternoon when BJP MLA O P Sharma likened Kejriwal to a magician alleging he "misguides" people. "Ek jaadugar the PC Sarkar, dusre Gogia pasha, aur teesre aaye hai Arvind Kejriwal jo logo ko bhramit karte hai," Sharma alleged.

Thereafter, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta took over and hit out at Kejriwal over "false" claims of reducing the budget of projects. Gupta said, "Government is taking credit for drastic reduction in cost of flyovers, dispensaries and other capital works by presenting misleading reasons and facts."
Speaker Ram Niwas Goel did not allow him to speak any further, following which the BJP MLAs walked out of the House in protest.
The BJP leader earlier during the House proceedings had said, as per CPWD manual, the cost reduction must have been projected which the AAP government "failed" to do. Now, it is taking credit for its "inefficiency".
There was an uproar again in the Assembly when the chief minister started his concluding address. "In place of confining himself to Delhi's budget proposals in context of LG's speech, Kejriwal made uncharitable comments on India's foreign policy and national security matters.
These matters lie beyond the jurisdiction of the floor of Vidhan Sabha," Gupta later said in a statement. He said as per the rule of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha, no reference can be made against a person who is not present in the Assembly to defend himself. But Kejriwal chose to attack the Prime Minister to project himself as a national figure against the rules.
