Delhi: Motorcyclist dies after getting tangled in wire placed between 2 barricades

A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after his neck was stuck in a wire tied between two barricades in Delhi. Reports say the barricades were placed on the road by police near Netaji Subhash Place where the incident took place.

The victim has been identified as Abhishek. Reports say he used to drive for Ola Cabs and was also a Disc Jockey. The grieving mother of the victim has asked for a probe into the case and strict punishment for those responsible.

There were two barricades which were tied to each other by a wire. There was no light when he was coming towards the barricades and the wire hit him," Sunil, a relative of the victim said.

Confirming the incident, police said that there is a cut around his neck but added that the cause of death will only be known after the autopsy.

A case has been registered after which 4 constables and division officers were suspended.
