Delayed by 1 year, Hyderabad metro incurs losses of Rs 2 crore per day

Hyd metro delayed by 1 year
Hyderabad, Oct 29: Metro rail officials in Hyderabad are having a tough time to convince government departments like fire, municipal corporation and other government agencies for a speedy permission. This is a prestigious project, but L&T is being asked to wait wherever the issues are being raised.

Likewise, there is no clarity on the Sultan Bazar and the Assembly stretch. A senior officer explains," Due to no official communication, the project is already getting delayed by a year."

However, Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director N.V.S. Reddy issued a contradictory statement where he refuses the claims. He says,"The project is well within the time-frame. The issues of permission are also being taken up from time to time." Despite problems, L&T officials are trying to finish the Nagole and the Uppal stretch so that people can see the benefits. Losses of Rs 2 crore per day are being estimated.
