Fatal Dispute in Dehradun

The heart of the conflict was a financial transaction involving Sagar alias Shambhu Yadav, who, on June 15, secured a loan of Rs 4.25 lakh from Devendra Kumar alias Sonu Bhardwaj and Monu Bhardwaj. The loan was obtained by mortgaging a vehicle without informing its rightful owner, Deepak Badola. Upon discovering the unauthorized deal, Badola demanded the return of his vehicle, a request that was met with refusal and abusive retorts from Yadav.

Further attempts by Badola to reclaim his property from the Bhardwajs were also unsuccessful, leading to a confrontation at their residence. The altercation quickly escalated as Sonu Bhardwaj, Monu Bhardwaj, and several of their associates resorted to gunfire. Subhash Chhetri and Manoj Negi, acquaintances of Badola who had accompanied him, sustained serious injuries in the shootout.

Following the incident, both injured parties were rushed to the hospital by their families with police assistance. In a tragic development, Deepak Badola was reported missing shortly after the altercation and was later found deceased in a drain near Dobhal Chowk on Monday morning.

The police have since apprehended Sonu Bhardwaj, Monu Bhardwaj, and Shambhu Yadav in connection with the violent dispute. Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest other individuals involved in the incident. Authorities have registered a case under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 307 (attempt to murder), 302 (murder), and 120B (criminal conspiracy).

This incident has cast a shadow over the community, highlighting the severe consequences that can arise from disputes over property and financial dealings. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter, aiming to bring all parties involved to justice.
