'Degree Wali Desh Beche': Nishikant Dubey's Fresh Jibe At Mahua Moitra In Cash-For-Query Case

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has launched a fresh attack on Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra, alleging that she solicited money from industrialist Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for asking questions against the Adani Group in Parliament. Dubey claims that Moitra's Parliament login was opened in Dubai while she was in India, raising concerns about national security and the dignity of Parliament.

While the ethics committee had initiated an investigation into these claims raised by Nishikant Dubey, Moitra has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them a "hit job" orchestrated by the BJP. She has also accused Dubey of presenting forged documents and demanded an investigation into his own educational qualifications.

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw further intensified the matter on Tuesday by sending a letter to Nishikant Dubey, acknowledging the gravity of the allegations concerning 'cash for questions.' The National Informatics Centre, which operates under the IT ministry, expressed its readiness to collaborate with the Committee on Ethics in relation to the investigation.

Mahua Moitra, in response to these developments, pointed out that Nishikant Dubey had already claimed that the National Informatics Centre provided details of "Dubai logins" to the investigating agency, casting doubt on the veracity of the information. She labeled the entire situation as a politically motivated 'hit job' against her, orchestrated by individuals she characterized as less-than-adept strategists.

Additionally, industrialist Darshan Hiranandani, who faced allegations of bribing Moitra in exchange for posing questions against the Adani Group in Parliament, admitted his involvement and attributed it to a lapse in judgment. In his own words, "I think that me being entangled in this whole matter is an error of my judgment." Hiranandani clarified that he had willingly signed the affidavit, without any coercion or inducement. He expressed that the affidavit was notarized at the Indian consulate in Dubai, highlighting his voluntary and unpressured involvement in the process. Hiranandani firmly denied any claims of intimidation or coercion by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) regarding his affidavit and underscored that the document had been submitted to the Privilege Committee of Lok Sabha, copied to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and emailed to Dr. Nishikant Dubey.
