Defence Ministry and B-School Join Hands for Ex-Servicemen Scholarships
The Defence Ministry has collaborated with a leading B-school to provide scholarships to ex-servicemen, offering them the opportunity to enhance their management skills and successfully transition to civilian life after retirement.

In a significant move to empower ex-servicemen with advanced management skills, the Defence Ministry has collaborated with a leading business school in India. This partnership aims to provide comprehensive scholarships to military personnel who transition to civilian life after retirement.
Scholarship Details
Under this collaboration, the Indian School of Business (ISB) will offer a substantial 50 per cent tuition fee waiver to ex-servicemen across its postgraduate and advanced management programs. This scholarship amounts to a total of Rs 2.3 crore annually, benefiting approximately 22 ex-servicemen each academic year.
Gratitude and Opportunity
Secretary of the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Vijoy Kumar Singh, expressed sincere gratitude to the ISB for partnering with the Defence Ministry. He highlighted that most armed forces personnel retire at a relatively young age and possess immense discipline, zeal, and a strong desire to serve the nation. This initiative presents a valuable opportunity for veterans and soon-to-retire personnel to pursue world-class education at the ISB.
By acquiring advanced management skills, these individuals can play a pivotal role in shaping a developed India (Viksit Bharat) by 2047, contributing to the nation's progress and prosperity.
ISB's Veteran Alumni
The ISB holds a distinguished legacy of nurturing over 100 veterans among its alumni. These individuals bring significant value to the classroom discussions and strengthen the alumni network, fostering a vibrant learning environment.
This collaboration between the Defence Ministry and the ISB marks a significant step towards empowering ex-servicemen with the knowledge and skills required to excel in the corporate world. By providing access to world-class management education, this initiative will enable veterans to continue serving the nation in leadership roles, contributing to the country's economic growth and development.
