'Dead men' get loan notices, CBI arrests bank manager

Police alleged that he filled up the forms himself, signed as the guarantor and got the loans passed. He then drew the cash from various accounts and used the cash in petrol pumps, tractor showrooms, and buying plots.
Sources say that he has got a sun of RS 50,000 passed in the name of several farmers, most of them dead. The incident came to light when the families of the farmers started getting notices regarding the loan.
One of the victims alleged that he never approached the bank for one. Smelling foul, he approached the CBI just to find that similar complaints have been lodged against the bank.
Following this, the manager of the bank was arrested.
