'Dead' Man Returns Home In Rajasthan After 33 Years

A man, who went missing in 1989, finally returned to his home after 33 years. The family, which thought he was dead, was astonished to see the elder member of the family alive.

The incident is reported from Alwar in Rajasthan. 75-year-old Hanuman Saini was working in Khari Baoli in Delhi when he went missing in 1989 and he returned home on May 30, according to a report in ANI.

According to Hanuman Saini, he had gone to Kangra Mata temple in Himachal Pradesh where he spent 33 years doing meditation. However, the family, after trying to find him for decades, performed last rites, last year. They even got his death certificate as they faced land-related issues.

"When I boarded the train the TT asked for a ticket but I had only Rs 20 with me and he was kind enough to give me a ticket till Pathankot from where I reached Kangra Mata temple in Himachal and spent 33 years in the service and worship of Mataji (goddess)," ANI quoted Saini as saying.

He added, "In between, I went to Gangasagar and Kali Maiya temple in Kolkata. Finally, after completing my meditation and worship, the goddess directed me to return home and I came back to my family".

The 75-year-old man arrived at Khairthal by train on May 29 and reached home by walk. On May 30, he was spotted by locals who helped him to take him back to his house in Alwar.

All his children (3 daughters and 2 sons) are now married.

"We had given up the hope of father being alive but we are delighted that he came back. We were very young back then and had not even seen him properly. Today we are extremely happy as our father has returned to the family," Hanuman's elder son Ramchandra Saini told the news agency.
