YC leader kicked out for accusing national chief of sexual harassment
Days after Assam Congress leader Angkita Dutta accused the organisation's national president Srinivas B V of harassment, she has been suspended from the party for six years.
"Hon'ble Congress President has expelled Dr. Angkita Dutta, President Assam Pradesh Youth Congress, from the primary membership of the party, for six years, for her anti-party activities, with immediate effect," the INC Sandesh, the official Twitter handle of Congress to make announcement, tweeted on Saturday.

"Despite my complaints, no inquiry has been initiated against Srinivas... I have kept quiet for months waiting for them to take action against him yet no one seems interested. Srinivas in the guise of his PR is getting away with all kinds of wrongdoings," she stated.
Earlier, Dutta, in a series of tweets tagging Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, tweeted, "How can a sexist and chauvinistic leader @IYC torture and demean a woman every single time. What happened to @priyankagandhi ladki hoon ladk Shakti Hoon (sic)".
She alleged that Srinivas continually harassed her and was "discriminating on the basis of my gender". "My values and education doesn't allow me anymore. The leadership has played deaf ears despite bring front of them MANY TIMES @RahulGandhi @kcvenugopalmp @priyankagandhi (sic)," Dutta said.
She also claimed that despite complaints, no enquiry committee has been initiated against Srinivas. "Is this the safe space @RahulGandhi talks about women @priyankagandhi," she said in another tweet.
Responding to the allegations of joining the BJP and being in constant touch with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, she wrote, "Honestly I am aware this could lead to an end of my political career. If this is the price I have to pay ,so be it . About me meeting some BJP leader, one is welcome to check cctv footage of home & office where you will probably see me reading trolls my colleagues are spreading."
Angkita is the daughter of former Assam minister Anjan Dutta and held the positin of Assam president of Indian Youth Congress.
On the other hand, Srinivas B V has sent a criminal defamation case against Angkita Dutta for using "unparliamentary and defamatory" language against him.
"Dr Dutta has resorted to using utterly unparliamentary, undignified, defamatory, malicious words against Srinivas BV and has levelled totally sexist, chauvinistic, false, frivolous allegations against him. The IYC legal cell has taken a strong, stringent legal action and therefore IYC National President Srinivas BV has sent a Criminal Defamation notice to Dr Angkita Dutta in view of the same," the press release stated.
