New Delhi, June 17: Comparing Dawood Ibrahim to Lalit Modi appears to be extremely far fetched and it was the Congress that gave a visa to the don, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament has alleged.

Kateel who was in Mangaluru today said that the Sushma Swaraj- Lalit Modi issue is a closed chapter.

The matter has been discussed by both BJP National President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chapter is a closed one today, Kateel also said. He also questioned the Congress for comparing Lalit Modi and Dawood Ibrahim.

Congress gave visa to Dawood: BJP

Congress gave Dawood visa

Kateel alleged that it was the Congress which gave Dawood Ibrahim a visa. Who had issued a directive to hand over a visa to Dawood Ibrahim when he left the country? It was the Congress party, he said.

There are many such cases in which members of the Congress have influenced cases and fugitives have ended up getting visas only to leave the country and never return he said.

Defending Sushma Swaraj, he said that she had only shown her humanitarian side. The Congress must stop bringing up the issue again and again.

Learn from former Bihar Chief Minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav who has shown more wisdom in this case. Lalu Yadav had defended Sushma in this case. Kateel also made it clear that the visa was not issued to Lalit Modi for business purposes.

Siddaramaiah is not the one to talk

Referring to the statements made by Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah on the Sushma Swaraj issue, Kateel said that he ought not to talk. The Karnataka Chief Minister must remember that he withdrawn 1400 cases against the PFI and the KFD, two groups which have been blamed for communal activities.

Siddaramaiah should realize that the withdrawing of the cases is a huge mistake. He should also realize that the Congress is targeting Sushma Swaraja on a non-issue. They have nothing to do as they are out of power in New Delhi, he also said while adding that the Sushma Swaraj issue must be treated as closed.
