Jail break in Jharkhand: 5 killed in police firing, 12 prisoners escape
Ranchi, Dec 9: In a daring act, over 17 prisoners tried to escape from jail van in Chaibasa, Jharkhand on Tuesday.
According to media reports, five prisoners killed during the firing but other 12 managed to flee.

The incident took place at the time when the prisoners were being taken back from court to jail in Chaibasa which is in southern part of the State.
According to reports, the jail van carrying these prisoners entered the main gate of the prison and left after the men deboarded. As they were about to enter the second gate, one of the prisoners threw chilli powder at jail staff and tried to run towards the main gate.
Soon, the security guards opened fire which left five of the absconding prisoner dead while other 12 managed to escape.
