Dance teacher assaults girl in school in UP

Kanpur, May 4: A 9-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her dance teacher in a school in Naubasta area here, police said on Wednesday, May 4.

According to the complaint filed by the victim's father, one Kishan Singh Rathore sexually assaulted the minor yesterday after calling her to his room on the pretext of teaching dance, they said.

An FIR was registered under the POCSO Act following the complaint and the erring teacher has been arrested, police said, adding, the victim is undergoing medical examination.

The father had also complained to the director of the school after he got to know about the incident. Police is interrogating the director of the school along with other staff members and investigation is on in the case.
