Dalit girl molested by neighbour in Punjab

Moga, Sep 4: An eight-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly molested by her neighbour at Jhandiana Sharki village in the district, police said on Friday, Sept 4.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by the victim's father yesterday.

The father has alleged that his daughter was alone at home when Amritpal Singh (23) assaulted her with an intention to outrage her modesty on Tuesday, police said.

The girl was rescued from the clutches of the accused by her parents and neighbours when she raised an alarm, they said. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and efforts are on to arrest Singh, police said.
