Dalit federation extends support to DMK

Chennai, Mar 15: DMK today said a Dalit federation and nine other social outfits have extended support to it for the May 16 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Functionaries of the Dalit Federation, comprising nine outfits, called on DMK deputy general secretary V P Duraisamy, and organisation secretary R S Barathy to express their support, DMK said in a release.

The Dalit outfits include All India Ambedkar Makkal Kazhagam, Makkal Desam Katchi, Ambedkar Makkal Katchi and six other organisations.

The nine other outfits that have extended support include Anaithu Hindu Iyakkangalin Kootamaippu, Mutharaiyar Murpokku Sangam and Tamil Nadu Gramanikula Munnetra Nala Sangam. Similar smaller outfits had earlier extended support to both AIADMK and DMK.
