Dadri incident: 20 lakh for Muslim's death, but Hindu doesn't even get 20000, says Sakshi Maharaj

New Delhi: BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj created yet another controversy on Sunday by talking about the Dadri lynching incident.

The BJP MP reacted to the announcement made by the Akhilesh govt to give Rs 20 lakh to the victims of the incident and said as per an ANI report, "This is done on the basis of appeasement. When a Muslim dies they will give 20 lakhs and when a Hindu dies he won't even get 20,000."

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 20 Lakh to the kin of 50-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq, who was lynched for allegedly possessing beef.

Earlier, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi also met the victim's family.

Meanwhile, two main accused in the lynching case, Shivam and Vishal, were arrested on Saturday, raising the total of the number of accused in the case to eight.

Six people were arrested earlier after public outrage over the killing.

Earlier, Sakshi Maharaj sparked controversy by claiming himself to be a true Muslim and dubbed Prophet Mohammed as a "great yogi" and the biggest practitioner of yoga.
