Cycling from Wagah to Dharamsala to 'Save the Girl'

Dharamsala, Jan 28: A group of 21 cyclists, set out to spread the message of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' (Save and Educate Girls) in Punjab, on Thursday, Jan 28 reached Dharamsala, completing the last leg of their journey, which had begun from Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar.

The team, part of Pune-based 'Lifecycle' group comprised 21 cyclists, aged between 9 and 60 years, The group, which included 6 women and 4 children, cycled from Attari-Wagah border to Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Pathankot and finally reached Dharamsala.

"The aim of the tour is to spread the message of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao in Punjab," said Milind Shalgar, one of the participants. Shalgar said the idea behind the exercise was also to spread the message that people should keep themselves fit by cycling.
