Culture Ministry's Republic Day Tableau Showcases India's Rich Heritage and Vision for 2047

The Ministry of Culture's Republic Day tableau is a tribute to India's rich history. It features an ancient Tamil musical instrument and a Golden Bird, symbolising cultural heritage and economic growth. This display will be part of the 76th Republic Day celebrations on Kartavya Path, showcasing India's diverse culture and creativity.

Celebrating Indias Heritage on Republic Day

A preview of the 31 tableaux was held at the Rashtriya Rangshala Camp in Delhi Cantonment. The ministry's tableau is inspired by the Prime Minister's mantra "Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi." It highlights India's cultural heritage and sustainable development potential. The tableau aims to convey the vision of a developed India by 2047, according to Union Culture Secretary Arunesh Chawla.

Showcasing Cultural Heritage

The tableau features the ancient Tamil musical instrument Yaadh on a potter's wheel, depicted with Odisha's Konark wheel. This represents the depth and continuity of India's musical tradition. Additionally, the kinetic Kalpavriksha transforms into a Golden Bird, symbolising creativity and progress.

The Konark wheel is prominently displayed on the tableau's surface, with "Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi" inscribed in Hindi and English around its circumference. This highlights the theme of preserving heritage while embracing development.

Digital Displays Enhance Experience

Ten digital screens on the sides of the tableau showcase India's diversity in performing arts, literature, architecture, design, and tourism. These displays invite Indians to take pride in their heritage and look forward to a bright future.

The ministry emphasises that this tableau reflects India's glorious past while envisioning a powerful and creative future. It encourages every Indian to embrace their cultural heritage and move forward on the path of development for a brighter, more inclusive future.

The Republic Day celebrations aim to inspire pride in India's cultural diversity and creativity. By highlighting both heritage and development, the tableau seeks to motivate Indians towards achieving a developed nation by 2047.
