CSIR-UGC NET Result 2024

A total of 1,963 candidates have qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship under the CSIR JRF scheme. Out of these, around 11 candidates have qualified specifically for the award of the JRF, but they are not eligible for the Assistant Professor position. Additionally, 1,875 candidates passed the Junior Research Fellowship under the UGC JRF scheme and are eligible for Assistant Professor roles.

In Category 2, about 3,172 candidates are eligible for the Assistant Professor position and for admission to PhD programmes. Meanwhile, 10,969 candidates are eligible for PhD admission only under Category 3.

The results notification states that for PhD admission, the marks obtained in the NET for candidates in Categories 2 and 3 will be valid for one year from the date of the result declaration. The NET results will be given as a percentile along with the marks scored by each candidate.

For candidates in Categories 2 and 3, the NET marks will carry a weightage of 70 per cent, while the remaining 30 per cent will be based on their performance in an interview or viva voce conducted by the respective university or higher education institution. Admission to PhD programmes will be determined by the combined merit of NET scores and interview results.

The eligibility criteria and upper age limits for Categories 1, 2, and 3 can be found in the information bulletin for the Joint CSIR UGC NET June 2024. Eligibility for Assistant Professor and PhD admission follows UGC guidelines.
