CRPF trooper shoots himself dead

Jammu, April 5: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) head constable, posted near the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, shot himself dead on Tuesday, police said.

"A head constable of CRPF identified as Salinger Singh posted at Bavant near Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Reasi district shot himself with his service rifle today. He died immediately," a police officer said.

A case has been registered and investigations are going on, the officer added.
