'Creepy Obsession With Self Made Woman': BJP On Rahul Gandhi's Comments On Aishwarya Rai

Amid the Bachchans maintaining silence over Rahul Gandhi's recent remarks on actress Aishwarya Rai, the BJP has now slammed the former Congress chief for targeting the actress.

In a social media post, the Karnataka BJP described Gandhi's recent remarks against Aishwarya as a "creepy obsession with a successful and self-made woman."

The post read: Congress Clown Prince @RahulGandhi now has a dangerous & creepy obsession with successful & self-made woman. Frustrated by constant rejections by Indians, Rahul Gandhi has sunk to a new low of demeaning India's Pride Aishwarya Rai. A fourth-generation dynast, with zero achievements, now resorts to slurs against Aishwarya Rai, who has brought more glory to India & than Rahul Gandhi's entire family."

The post also targeted Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by dragging her Karnataka roots. "Hello Mr. @siddaramaiah, as your boss continues to insult a fellow Kannadiga, will you uphold your professed Kannada pride & speak out against such disrespect, or will you remain silent to safeguard your CM Chair?" the message read.

Though Aishwarya Rai was raised in Mumbai and became a successful Bollywood actress, she was born in Mangaluru and her parents are Kannadigas.

What did Rahul Gandhi Say About Aishwarya Rai?

It all started at a public gathering at the Transport Nagar Chowk in Chhattisgarh on Sunday where Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had targeted the BJP government over the Ram Mandir inauguration as he questioned why there were not any members of Backward Classes (OBCs) at the event.

"I saw Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Ambani, Adani, all the business people, but I did not see a single poor person. Not a single farmer was seen, not one labourer was seen, not one unemployed person was seen," he said.

As per a report in Economic Times, Rahul, at a separate rally, said: "Aishwarya will be seen dancing & Bachchan saab will do a Balle Balle.!"

Criticising Rahul's comments, BJP National Spokesperson-Prabhari Delhi BJP, Shehzad Jai Hind said that Rahul Gandhi "makes misogynistic comments on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who has nothing to do with politics."

He questioned, "Why is Priyanka silent? Is she embarrassed too? Why is SP not saying anything against these comments on their own MP's family?"

Many netizens have come down heavily on Rahul Gandhi for his latest remarks. Notably, they have questioned why the Bachchans have not responded to his comments, especially when Jaya Bachchan is a Rajya Sabha member.
