Credit Card Rule Changes From April 1: Must-Know Updates for THESE Cardholders, Check Details
Credit Card Rule Change: Starting April 1, multiple banks are implementing new credit card rules, impacting reward points, annual fee waivers, and benefits. Key changes will affect popular cards like the Air India SBI Credit Card, SimplyCLICK SBI Card, and Axis Bank's Vistara Credit Card.
Air India SBI Credit Card: Major Reward Reductions

Air India SBI Credit Card users will see a significant cut in reward points:
- Platinum Card: 5 reward points per ₹100 spent on Air India bookings (down from 15).
- Signature Card: 10 reward points per ₹100 spent (down from 30).
- This is a major setback for frequent flyers relying on SBI's co-branded cards for travel benefits.
IDFC First Bank: Annual Fee Waiver Update
IDFC First Bank will waive the annual fee for one year for customers renewing their cards after March 31, 2025. However, key travel benefits, including Vistara perks, are being discontinued.
SimplyCLICK SBI Card: Reduced Rewards on Swiggy
SimplyCLICK SBI Cardholders will now get 5X reward points on Swiggy, a drop from 10X.
The 10X rewards will still apply to Myntra, BookMyShow, and Apollo 24.
Axis Bank Vistara Credit Card: Post-Merger Revisions
Due to Vistara's merger with Air India, Axis Bank will update its Vistara Credit Card benefits starting April 18, 2025. While the annual fee will be waived for renewals, many perks will be discontinued.
With these changes taking effect, credit card users must review their reward programs and benefits to make informed spending decisions.
