Rescue Operation Underway
Faridabad Police Public Relations Officer Yashpal Yadav said rescue personnel equipped with cutting tools were immediately deployed to the site.
"Police received information about the accident around 3 pm after which rescue workers with cutting equipment went to the spot," Yadav said.
According to officials, one injured worker has been rescued so far. The worker reportedly suffered severe leg injuries after being trapped under the debris.
"Efforts are still going on to cut or lift the collapsed part of the crane and the container to reach the other workers. The collapsed equipment weighs several tonnes," Yadav added.
Containers Used As Site Offices Damaged
Officials said several shipping containers had been placed at the construction site and were being used as temporary offices and resting spaces for workers, contractors and project staff.
The overturned crane reportedly fell onto some of these containers, increasing the complexity of the rescue operation.
Heavy machinery and specialised equipment are being used to remove debris and locate those trapped. Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of workers affected by the collapse.
Further details are awaited as rescue operations continue at the site.
