Crackdown on Amritpal Singh begins: Arms licences of nine cancelled
Amritpal Singh flew into Punjab from Dubai following the death of Deep Sidhu and took over his outfit, Waris Punjab De. He acts and talks like Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
The crackdown on the radical Sikh outfit, Waris Punjab De has begun and the licences of nine of Amritpal Singh's aides have been cancelled.
Amritpal's supporters had stormed a police station in Ajnala Punjab recently demanding the release of his aide Lovepreet Toofan. His supporters were seen brandishing arms during the attack.

The arms licences of nine of Amritpal's aides have been cancelled and the authorities in Jammu And Kashmir have been asked to cancel another person's licence.
More action will follow, once the G-20 Summit's over. The G-20 representatives will be in Punjab for an Education Summit and also to discuss Labour issues.
The persons whose arms licence have been cancelled include, Harjeet, Baljinder, Ram Singh Barada, Gurmat Singh, Avatar Singh, Varinder Singh, Amritpal, Harpreet Devgan, and Gurbhej Singh. Another aide of Amritpal Singh who got his licence from Jammu And Kashmir is Talvinder Singh. The authorities of the Union Territory have been informed about the same.
Attack on Ajnala police station:
Amritpal Singh's supporters ran amok and attacked the Ajnala Police Station in February.
After the attack, the Punjab Police said, 'what happened should not have happened. The Punjab Police did not retaliate as the law and order situation could have worsened. Moreover the rioters had the Guru Granth Sahib in their hands and had we retaliated, the situation would have got worse. We respect the Guru Granth Sahib."
Following the incident, the Punjab Police released Lovepreet Toofan.
Former Punjab chief minister, Captain Amarinder Singh said, 'this is not only a complete collapse of the law and order situation in Punjab, but it is more serious than that. This incident has significant impact on the security situation for both the state and the nation."
