Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh Urges Uttarakhand CM to Combat Land Jihad Like Yogi Adityanath

Telangana BJP MLA T Raja Singh recently urged Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to adopt measures similar to those of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Singh suggested that Dhami should address the issue of "land jihad" in the state. Singh made these remarks while speaking at a mahapanchayat organised by the Hindu outfit Devbhoomi Vichar Manch at Ramlila Maidan, focusing on an illegally constructed mosque.

BJP MLA Calls for Action Against Land Jihad

Singh, representing Goshamahal, travelled from Hyderabad to encourage Dhami to engage in discussions with Adityanath over tea, known as "chai pe charcha." He emphasised that Dhami should consider acquiring bulldozers to tackle land-related issues, similar to actions taken in Uttar Pradesh. Singh asserted that Dhami has the backing of one crore Hindus in Uttarakhand and should honour their sentiments.

Uttarakhand's Challenges and Community Concerns

The legislator highlighted the desire of Hindus for a land jihad-free Uttarakhand, describing the state as a paradise threatened by conspiracies. He urged vigilance and decisive action against those he termed as "land jihadis." Singh also called on attendees to demand political parties address these concerns in exchange for electoral support.

Singh claimed that illegal mosque constructions were occurring in Uttarakhand and stressed the need for legal action to halt such activities. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand High Court was addressing a petition regarding the safety of a mosque on Bhatwari Road. The court instructed the district administration to maintain order while keeping it informed about developments.

Legal Proceedings and Government Actions

The petitioner requested the court to prevent the mahapanchayat, but the state government informed that it would not occur. However, on November 29, permission was granted with conditions like avoiding hate speeches and maintaining peace. The next court hearing was set for December 5.

BJP MLA Suresh Chauhan from Gangotri attended the mahapanchayat under strict security. Chauhan stated that the Dhami government had implemented measures against land and love jihad and would continue these efforts. He also mentioned plans to declare Uttarkashi a holy city, prohibiting shops selling meat, fish, and liquor.

Community Reactions and Previous Incidents

The mahapanchayat raised demands for investigations into alleged cases of love jihad, land jihad, illegal encroachments, and outsiders entering the state. In October, Sanyukt Hindu Sangathan protested against an illegally built mosque in Uttarkashi. The protest led to stone-pelting incidents during a rally, prompting police intervention with mild lathi-charge.

Clashes erupted when police attempted to redirect the rally's route, resulting in injuries to 27 individuals, including seven police officers. The outfit claimed that the Sunni community's mosque was constructed on government land.

The situation in Uttarakhand remains tense as various groups express concerns over illegal constructions and demographic changes. Authorities are tasked with balancing law enforcement while respecting religious sentiments and maintaining peace within the region.
