CPI(M) fields Jharna Das Baidya as candidate for Rajya Sabha poll
Agartala, March 7: Ruling CPI-M in Tripura would field Jharna Das Baidya, the sitting MP as its candidate for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the state.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the state committee of the party yesterday, a CPI-M statement said on Monday, Mrach 7.

If elected, this would be the second term for Das Baidya, who is a prominent woman leader of the state. The election would be held on March 21 in the premises of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. The Left Front has 50 of the total 60 seats in the Assembly.
