Couple Stranded On Car Roof During Gujarat Floods, Remain Surprisingly Calm
Due to heavy rainfall in Gujarat, many people found themselves in precarious situations, struggling to reach their homes. Among them was a couple whose car got stuck in the middle of a river after a sudden spike in water levels caused by the torrential downpour. Trapped by the unexpected flash flood, the couple ended up stranded on top of their vehicle as the water surged around them. However, what truly amazed netizens was the couple's calm demeanor throughout the ordeal.
With no other option, the pair climbed onto the roof of their car to avoid being swept away by the powerful current, which had engulfed their vehicle while crossing the river. The couple remained stranded on their car for two hours, enduring the relentless waves. Locals who witnessed their dangerous predicament attempted to rescue them, but the strong current hindered their approach, making the rescue operation particularly challenging.

The dramatic incident was shared by Vijay Patel on September 11 and has since gone viral, garnering over 800,000 views and close to 9,300 likes. Many commenters expressed their surprise at how composed the couple appeared during such a chaotic moment.
Patel wrote, "It was their love marriage. Their names are Sureshbhai and Nayana Ben. They were stuck there for a total of 5 hours. For the first two hours, no one was around them, and the water was flowing on their necks. They drifted two kilometers in the river. Sureshbhai was making jokes to calm his wife down. Sureshbhai sat behind his wife to shield her from the water's force. They contacted the police, fire brigade, and administration, but not any family members. The local people were the real heroes who saved them, especially in an era when one person recently died in UP because rescuers were demanding money before starting the rescue."
Here's how people reacted to the video:
One user commented, "How are they so unbothered!" X user Naresh added, "They may have more serious problems than a flood."
Another, Ishwar, humorously noted, "Only a plate of samosas is missing. Otherwise, there is no shortage of comfort; we will think about the disaster some other time."
A fourth user wrote, "What else could they do? Panicking has no solution. They knew the rain had stopped, and the water level might go down. It was clear that by the time they were rescued, the water level had dropped, and half the car was visible."
The incident has sparked discussions on social media, with many praising the couple's calmness and resilience in the face of a harrowing situation.
