Nashik: Couple kills three children before committing suicide  

Nashik (Maha), May 10: A couple allegedly killed their three minor children before committing suicide at their residence in Mahadev Nagar area in Jalgaon district in north Maharashtra, police said today.

The couple- Anandrao Gaikwad (47) and his wife Jyoti (40) first killed their three children- Poonam (12), Jayesh (9) and Darshika (6)- by poisoning them and then hanged themselves from the ceiling, they said.

The incident came to light yesterday morning when one of their relatives went to their residence. The door of their house was broken open as there was no response from inside, police said.

Gaikwad, who was from Surat in Gujarat, worked in the textile market in Jalgaon as an accountant, they said. The motive behind the suicide and the killings was not yet known, police said adding that further investigation into the case is on.
