PM Narendra Modi greets ITBP
New Delhi, Oct 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday greeted the Indo-Tibetan Border Police on its 53rd Raising Day and said the country was proud of the valour and service of its men and officers.

"On the Raising Day of ITBP, I salute our brave ITBP personnel. We are proud of their valour, determination and service to the nation," the Prime Minister's Office said in a tweet.

Indo Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) was raised on October 24, 1962 and is presently deployed on border guarding duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh, covering 3488 km of India-China border.

Being a specialised mountain force, ITBP has also been carrying out numerous rescue and relief operations.

The ITBP force is deployed on the border and to guard high altitude outposts.
