Big day for Maha, Haryana as counting of votes begins

The counting will decide the fate of 1,351 candidates, including 116 women. Polling for the 90 assembly seats took place Oct 15.
Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad said that the counting started at 8 a.m. under tight security arrangements.
The counting was going at 90 centres across 57 locations in Haryana, he added.
Meanwhile,counting of votes polled in the Maharashtra assembly elections too began across the state's 36 districts.
A total of 4,119 candidates are in fray for the 288-member assembly.
The contest is between five major parties - the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
Election officials are hopeful the first proper trends will be available by 10 a.m.
