Corruption Common Character Of INDIA Bloc Parties, TMC Made It Full-Time Business: PM Modi

Alleging that corruption was the common character of INDIA bloc parties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday accused the TMC of having made it a "full-time business".

Addressing an election rally at Sankrail in Howrah, he alleged the job of TMC leaders is to create unrest in the state. "Whether the Congress, Left or any other party of the INDIA bloc, all of them have made corruption their common character," Modi alleged.

While many INDIA bloc parties indulge in corruption secretly, TMC does it openly, he claimed. "TMC has made corruption a full-time business," he said. Modi said people of the state have spent their earnings buying lottery tickets and losing them in the "lottery scam".

He claimed that TMC's agenda is the welfare of illegal immigrants and not that of the people of West Bengal.

"They call people of India as 'bohiragoto' (outsiders), but illegal immigrants from other countries are given sway in Bengal," he said. He said the Congress, Left and TMC have put West Bengal's identity on the altar. "In many areas, the original inhabitants have become minorities," he claimed.

This election is for protecting Bengal's culture: Modi

Addressing an election rally at Pursura in the Arambagh Lok Sabha constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that this Lok Sabha election is for protecting Bengal's culture over which the TMC thinks it has a monopoly.

Modi alleged there was no freedom of expression under the TMC rule in West Bengal.

He claimed that even if someone jocularly shares a post on social media, that person is not spared. It has become a crime to take the name of Ram Mandir in TMC-ruled Bengal, he alleged. The PM said that this election was also for the development of the state. Modi accused the TMC of looting the state and claimed that it was "committing a huge sin".

Alleging that the TMC was spreading falsehood over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act to frighten the people, he said, "CAA is a constitutional guarantee and a guarantee of Modi." He said that attempts to mislead the people on CAA would backfire.

The BJP has fielded Arup Kanti Digar in the Arambagh seat against TMC's Mitali Bag and CPI(M)'s Biplab Kumar Moitra.
