Reacting to the arrest, Chadha accused the AAP of betraying Punjab and claimed the party had taken the state "from prosperity to pauperism."
His remarks have intensified the political battle in Punjab ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Chadha Says AAP 'Looted Punjab'
Speaking to ANI after Arora's arrest, Raghav Chadha alleged that the AAP government had failed the people of Punjab despite promising development and prosperity.
"By showing the dream of making Punjab 'Rangla' (prosperous), AAP has looted Punjab's treasury and made it 'Kangla' (pauper)," Chadha said.
He further claimed that the alleged corruption case represented a betrayal of Punjab and its people.
According to Chadha, reports suggesting that cash was allegedly thrown from a balcony during ED raids and claims regarding large-scale fund transfers had raised serious questions about the government.
ED Arrests Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora
Sanjeev Arora was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate after searches at multiple locations across Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana.
The raids reportedly targeted Arora's residence, corporate offices linked to Hampton Sky Realty Limited and properties connected to several associates.
This was reportedly the third ED raid involving Arora within a year and the second within a month.
The agency is investigating an alleged ₹157-crore GST and export fraud case connected to fake invoices and fraudulent export refund claims involving mobile phone transactions.
Investigators have also alleged that over ₹100 crore was routed through shell companies based in the UAE.
Before the arrest, the ED had reportedly attached bank accounts, demat holdings and immovable properties linked to Arora and associated firms.
Chadha Targets AAP Leadership
Raghav Chadha also claimed that several leaders inside the AAP had earlier raised concerns regarding the party's functioning but were ignored.
"The seven MPs who left AAP had already warned that the party was trapped in the hands of corrupt and compromised people," he said.
Chadha alleged that leaders who tried to question internal issues were "silenced" inside the organisation.
He added that while investigative agencies would continue their work, the "real action" would come from the people of Punjab during the next Assembly elections.
Raghav Chadha's Exit From AAP
Chadha was once considered one of the most prominent faces of the Aam Aadmi Party and had worked closely with senior leaders including Arvind Kejriwal.
However, in April this year, he left the party along with six other MPs and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
After resigning from AAP, Chadha had accused the party of creating a "toxic work environment."
"I gave 15 years of my prime youth to this party. But today this is not the old party," he had said at the time.
The other leaders who left AAP included Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Vikramjit Singh Sahney and Swati Maliwal.
Political Pressure Mounts On AAP
The arrest of Sanjeev Arora and Chadha's latest attack have added to the growing political pressure on the AAP government in Punjab.
The controversy comes at a sensitive time for the party, which is already facing strong criticism from opposition parties after losing power in Delhi to the BJP in 2025.
With Punjab elections approaching next year, political observers believe the latest developments could significantly impact the state's political landscape in the coming months.
