Cordon and search operation launched in J&K's Ananthnag
Earlier this month a top Lashkar-e-Tayiba commander and his associates were killed in an encounter with security forces.
Security agencies have launched a cordon operation in the Mattan area of Anantnag. The operation was launched after intelligence reports suggested the presence of two or more terrorists in the area.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that an encounter is underway between the security forces and terrorists in the area. Terrorists are said to have fired shots at the security forces.
Meanwhile internet has been temporarily blocked in the area.
Earlier this month a top Lashkar-e-Tayiba commander and his associates were killed in an encounter with security forces. The militants who were killed were identified as Bashir Lashkari and Azad Malik. In the operation, security forces rescued 17 civilians who were trapped in the area.
