Days after Prashant Kishor, the poll strategist of the DMK, questioned MK Stalin's government for not taking action against Naam Tamilar Katchi chief Seeman for his hate comments against migrant Hindi workers, a case has been filed against the actor-turned-politician.

Cops book case against Tamil filmmaker Seeman for his hate speech against Hindi migrant workers

The Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NTK) leader Seeman would face fresh charges for speaking against migrant workers, a senior police official told PTI on Sunday. A case was registered against the NTK leader by Erode (Karungalpalayam) police on February 22, 2023 for making 'derogatory remarks' against a community while addressing a public meeting in the western city on February 13.

"In the same speech he (Seeman) has also spoken against migrant workers threatening foisting of cases against them. Hence, to take legal action in this regard, further sections have been added in this case," a senior State police official told the news agency.

The police action comes days after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had reassured his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar that all migrant workers in the southern state are safe and the police have registered cases against two journalists including the editor of a Hindi daily for spreading rumours about attacks on migrants.

What Seeman said in a Hate Speech Against Migrants?

"Hindi-speaking people will hastily pack their stuff and flee from this place. I don't know how many I will beat. They will pack their belongings within a week," Opindia quotes Seeman as saying in the video shared by Kishor.

The clip was shared by Prashant Kishor on Twitter and said, "All those who used fake videos to incite hate & violence must be dealt with as per the law. But this doesn't absolve those who're openly calling for violence against #Hindi speaking people in #TN. Why no action against likes of @SeemanOfficial for their vitriolic utterances?," he tweeted along with a video in which Seeman is making hate speech against migrant Hindi speakers."
