UP Constable Faces Rape and Anti-Conversion Charges in Pilibhit
A police constable has been accused of raping a woman from a different community and attempting to convert her religion, officials reported on Sunday. The accused, Chand Khan alias Raj, also recorded the act and extorted money from the woman when she refused to convert, they said.

Following orders from the Pilibhit superintendent of police, a case has been registered against the constable and his wife Gulshan Ara alias Jeva under the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act and other relevant sections, SHO of Kotwali police station Naresh Tyagi informed reporters.
Accusations Against Constable Chand Khan
The victim, who resides in the police station area, alleged that two years ago, while studying at a coaching centre, she was molested by a man. Constable Chand Khan intervened and saved her. This incident led to their friendship.
According to the police, Chand Khan introduced himself as Raj and proposed marriage to the victim. He took her to his residence in the police lines, gave her intoxicants, raped her, and recorded a video of the act, as per her complaint.
Forced Conversions and Extortion
The victim later discovered that Chand Khan was not his real name and that he had already been married twice. The accused then pressured her to convert her religion. When she refused, he threatened to make the video viral and started extorting money from her.
Police said that Chand Khan even called a cleric on two occasions to convert her religion. His wife Gulshan Ara also assisted him in these attempts.
Further Investigations Underway
The victim also alleged that she was forced to abort pregnancies twice by the accused. The SHO confirmed that further investigations are ongoing in this case.
The authorities are continuing their investigation into these serious allegations.
