New Delhi, Feb 25: Soon after a Congress worker released pictures of Rahul Gandhi claiming that he is holidaying in Uttarakhand, the office of Congress vice-president has rejected the claims.

"The claims made by Jagdish Sharma are not true. These pictures were taken when Rahul Gandhi was on an offsite to Uttarakhand in 2008," a statement by Rahul's office has been quoted in media reports.

Rahul's office rejects worker's claims

Earlier on Wednesday, a Congress worker Jagdish Sharma released pictures of Rahul Gandhi in Uttarakhand.

Amid speculation over Rahul's leave and a debate on the timing of his sabbatical - the budget session of Parliament is underway, Sharma released the pictures on Twitter showing Gandhi camping in the hills.

"Rahul Gandhi is in Uttarakhand. He will stay there for four-five days," Sharma told Times Now.

The Congress, which has already defended Gandhi's leave during the budget session saying he was going to reflect and chart a course for the future of the party, refused to comment on the photos.

"These days anyone can post anything on social media. We won't comment on it. We have already said earlier that he has gone to introspect," Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said.
