Congress Supports Pak-Backed Terrorists, Protects Infiltrators: PM In Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fierce attack on the Congress party during a rally in Darrang, Assam, on Sunday, accusing it of siding with anti-national forces and supporting terrorists nurtured by Pakistan.

"Instead of standing with our brave soldiers, Congress has chosen to back infiltrators and those who threaten India's unity. This party has repeatedly provided cover to anti-national forces," PM Modi alleged while addressing a large public gathering.

Operation Sindoor Success

The Prime Minister's visit was his first to Assam since the conclusion of Operation Sindoor, which he described as a "huge success," dedicating it to Maa Kamakhya and Lord Krishna. "Yesterday was my first visit to Assam after Operation Sindoor. With the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, the operation succeeded. Today, I feel a divine connection being on this sacred land," he said.

Linking his speech to Janmashtami celebrations in Darrang, PM Modi recalled his Independence Day address in which he invoked Lord Krishna's Sudarshan Chakra as inspiration for India's security architecture. "From the Red Fort, I remembered Chakradhari Mohan. Today, on this holy occasion, I reaffirm our vision of the Sudarshan Chakra for national security," he stated.

During his Independence Day speech, PM Modi had announced the Sudarshan Chakra Mission, a decade-long initiative to develop an indigenous, Iron Dome-like defence shield. "By 2035, we will expand, modernise, and strengthen this system. It will not only protect us from terrorist attacks but also enable decisive counter-strikes," he added, highlighting India's goal of achieving self-reliance in defence technology.

Assam: Centre of Identity and Courage

Describing Assam as "the centre of identity and courage," the Prime Minister lauded the resilience of the region, saying he was "fortunate to have darshan of the people of this inspiring land."

Development Initiatives

Alongside his political address, PM Modi unveiled several development projects in the state, including:

• Foundation stone for Darrang Medical College and Hospital
• GNM School and B.Sc. Nursing College
• Guwahati Ring Road Project to ease congestion and improve urban mobility
• Kuruwa-Narengi Bridge over the Brahmaputra to enhance connectivity and spur socio-economic growth

The Prime Minister's visit combined political messaging with tangible infrastructure announcements, underscoring the government's focus on security and development in Assam.
