Congress President Kharge Declares Election Result A Personal Setback For Modi: INDIA Bloc Meeting Highlights
At his residence, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge convened a significant meeting of the INDIA bloc, where he reflected on the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections, characterizing it as a notable setback for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a personal level and also as a "moral defeat".
Kharge welcomed the attendance of various leaders from the INDIA bloc, including stalwarts like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, highlighting their united stance against Modi's political agenda and approach.

INDIA Bloc Meeting Highlights
In his address, Kharge emphasized the collective effort and resilience displayed by the INDIA bloc in challenging Modi's leadership and ideology. He expressed concern over Modi's apparent determination to defy the electorate's mandate despite the clear message delivered through the election results.
During the meeting, Kharge reiterated the fundamental commitment of the INDIA bloc to the principles enshrined in the Constitution's Preamble, emphasizing the pursuit of economic, social, and political justice. The gathering also witnessed the presence of prominent leaders like Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, who engaged in discussions with Kharge and other members to strategize on the formation of the central government.
Amidst the political deliberations, supporters of the Congress, particularly those backing Rahul Gandhi, expressed their solidarity outside Kharge's residence in Delhi, underscoring the party's continued relevance and influence in the political landscape.
The Election Commission of India's official data revealed a noteworthy decline in the BJP's seat tally to 240, down from its formidable count of 303 in the previous elections. In contrast, the Congress demonstrated a commendable resurgence, securing 99 seats. Despite the INDIA bloc's formidable performance, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance clinched victory with 292 seats, prompting an endorsement of Narendra Modi's leadership through a unanimous resolution at the NDA meeting.
Sources close to the developments hinted at Prime Minister Modi's impending oath-taking ceremony, scheduled for June 8, marking his third term in office. This transition underscores the evolving dynamics of Indian politics, with alliances and opposition forces shaping the trajectory of governance and national leadership.
