Congress Government Led by Chief Minister Sukhu to Fulfil Seven Key Guarantees on December 11

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that the Congress government would implement seven major guarantees on December 11. He made this declaration while speaking to the public in the Siraj assembly constituency of Mandi district. The guarantees aim to address key issues and improve governance in the state.

The Chief Minister criticised the previous BJP administration for opening 900 institutions just before elections without allocating sufficient budgets or manpower. He described these actions as a betrayal of public trust. Sukhu assured that his government would establish new institutions only after ensuring adequate staffing and resources.

Financial Health and Governance

Sukhu highlighted the restoration of the old pension scheme for 1.36 lakh government employees as a sign of improving financial health. Additionally, an 11 per cent dearness allowance for employees and pensioners has been released. Police diet allowances have also been increased to Rs 1,000, reflecting better fiscal management.

The Chief Minister accused the former BJP government of leaving the state's treasury in poor condition, with insufficient funds to operate for even a month. He emphasised that his administration is committed to responsible financial governance and addressing past mismanagement.

Addressing Corruption Allegations

Sukhu mentioned that his government dissolved the Subordinate Services Selection Commission in Hamirpur due to corruption allegations and paper leaks. He stressed that he could not allow youth's futures to be compromised by corruption. He questioned former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur's lack of action during these incidents.
