Congress demands special status for Andhra Pradesh; stages demonstration

Guntur, May 2: Congress workers today staged a demonstration here seeking special status for Andhra Pradesh in accordance with the state reorganisation act.

State Congress chief N Raghuveera Reddy said it was the responsibility of the Centre to fulfil this legal obligation.

, though in power in the state and the Centre respectively, were not doing anything in this regard, he said.

Congress leaders Panabaka Lakshmi, Chiranjeevi and others were present during the protest.
