Congress Key to Odisha Government Formation, Claims Ajoy Kumar
In a recent press conference, Dr. Ajoy Kumar, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) member in charge of Odisha, expressed confidence in the Congress party's prospects in the upcoming assembly elections. He stated that the formation of a government in Odisha would be impossible without the Congress party's involvement. Dr. Kumar also predicted a significant victory for the party in the Lok Sabha seats, anticipating wins in eight or nine out of 21 constituencies in the state.

Addressing the media, Dr. Kumar highlighted the public's dissatisfaction with the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) ten-year governance, indicating a strong desire for change among the electorate. He emphasized the Congress party's bright chances in both the Lok Sabha constituencies and the assembly polls within Odisha, asserting that no government could be established without their participation.
Dr. Kumar critiqued the BJP's ambitious 400-plus seat slogan for the upcoming general elections, interpreting it as a metaphor for potential hikes in petrol and diesel prices under BJP's continued rule, rather than a realistic seat count expectation. His comments were made with a touch of sarcasm aimed at the ruling party's campaign strategies.
The press conference also touched upon issues of violence against women, with Dr. Kumar condemning the assault on AAP MP Swati Maliwal inside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence. He questioned the BJP's silence on similar allegations against JDS MP Prajwal Revanna, despite substantial audio and video evidence of sexual abuse surfacing online.
Dr. Kumar was joined by Suprio Bhattacharyya, General Secretary of the JMM Central Committee. They announced an upcoming large meeting of the INDIA bloc, set to feature speeches from notable political figures including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The event is scheduled to take place at Gopal Maidan, further solidifying the opposition's unity and resolve ahead of crucial electoral battles.
This assembly of leaders and their collective stance on key national issues underscores a pivotal moment in Indian politics as parties gear up for the forthcoming elections. With strategic alliances forming and electoral promises being made, the political landscape in Odisha and beyond is poised for significant shifts, reflecting the dynamic nature of democracy in India.
