Congress Composition In Karnataka: Siddaramaiah CM, Three Deputy CMs?

The Congress is all set to form the government in Karnataka after it headed towards a thumping majority in Karnataka.

There are plenty of questions on who would be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka. Sources say that in all probability it would be Siddaramaiah as the next CM, while D K Shivakumar, the party's chief would get multiple important portfolios. The source also said that the Congress is exploring the possibility of having three deputy chief ministers.

Each of them would be from the Muslim, Vokkaliga and Lingayat community. One of the main reasons for this combination is because, voters from across communities have voted for the Congress. The Muslims in particular have voted encase for the Congress, sources also said.

After a string of defeats the Congress has managed a big win in a big state. It would not want to squander away this opportunity owing to in-fighting, the source also added.

Many within the Congress are rooting for Siddaramaiah owing to his seniority and also the fact that he has announced that this would be his last elections.

All winning MLAs have been summoned to Bengaluru on Sunday where a crucial meeting of the Congress Legislature Party will be held. The meeting is scheduled to be held at the Shangri La hotel in Bengaluru. The source cited above said that the meeting would take a final decision, following which the swearing-in-ceremony will be held by next week.
