Congress workers in Bihar take up brooms, clean city; AAP effect?

Congress workers in Bihar take up brooms, clean city; AAP effect?
Patna, Dec 16: Broom seems to be the new weapon in Indian politics. After Aam Aadmi Party, whose election symbol was broom, swept the recently concluded Delhi assembly polls, Congress leaders in Bihar took to streets with brooms and cleaned the two kilometer stretch Rajapur Pul to Sadaquat Ashram.

Early in the morning on Sunday, the Congress men cleaned the area, removed garbage and dirt and sprinkled bleaching powder on the garbage sites.

Hundreds of Congress and Youth Congress workers including legislators and former legislators took part in the cleaning drive under the leadership of Bihar Pradesh
Congress Committee (BPCC) president Ashok Choudhary, says a Times of India report.

When asked whether the 'broom drive' was an effect of AAP feat, BPCC chief Vinod Sharma told TOI, " "We have taken up brooms inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, not Kejriwal".

The party leaders also said that they will undertake the cleaning drive every Sunday in different parts of the state.

It seems politicians are feeling the need to come out of their comfort zones and connect with people on the ground level.
