New Delhi, Oct 1: Taking a dig at the government over a collection of "just" Rs 3,770 crore under the one-time black money compliance window, Congress on Thursday said the "hollowness" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in every Indian's account stands exposed.

Congress chief spokesman Randeep Surjewala said Modi had claimed that more than Rs 80 lakh crore of black money was stashed abroad and that he would bring it back within 100 days of coming to power and deposit Rs 15 lakh in everyone's bank account.

"What do we have today after passage of the black money bill and passing of 16 months after Modi became the Prime Minister? Only disclosure of Rs 3,770 crore", Surjewala said.

Insisting that Modi had fought the last Lok Sabha election on the promise of bringing back black money, he said that the then BJP chief Rajnath Singh had also made a similar promise before the polls.

The Congress' reaction came close on the heels of government declaring that it received an amount of Rs 3,770 crore from 638 declarations under the one-time black money compliance window that closed yesterday.
