Cong urges parties to unite and elect Mamata as leader

The party's motive is to to stop BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi from being elected as the country's prime minister.
Admitting that it may be difficult for Congress to form the government, Congress leader Rashid Alvisaid, "It may be difficult for us to form the government, but all secular forces should come together to keep Narendra Modi away from power."
He suggested that all regional secular parties should come together and elect their leader, PTI reported. "Congress party will never hesitate to form a secular government," he said.
He added, "I suggest that regional parties should elect Mamata Banerjee, who is secular, competent and honest beyond doubt, as their leader," he said.
Most of the exit poll have predicted a drubbing for the Congress. As per the exit polls BJP is all set to emerge as the single largest party.
