Communal tension at village in Nashik district

Nashik, Sept 9: Tension prevailed at Devdongara village in Trimbakeshwar tehsil of Nashik district yesterday following an altercation between members of two communities.

However, no violence was reported, and the police took 12 persons in custody, averting escalation. The situation was under control and peaceful, Nashik rural police said.

The area is tribal-dominated and has some Christian population. Superintendent of Police Praveen Padwal, additional Superintendent of Police Vikrant Deshmane and other police officials were camping in the village, police added.
