Committee formed to probe CPMT papers leak in Uttar Pradesh

Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan has constituted the committee to be headed by Principal Secretary (IT) Jeevesh Nandan and has named Director General Medical Education K.P. Gupta and Special Secretary Arindam Bhattacharya as members.
The committee has been asked to submit its report to the government within a fortnight, the official told IANS. The pre-medical test papers were leaked Sunday in Ghaziabad leaving more than a lakh students in the lurch.
The King George's Medical University which was conducting the exam had cancelled it.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had asked the chief secretary to order an enquiry into the leak. A probe by the Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh Police has also been ordered.
The exam was scheduled to be conducted across 213 centres in 15 districts when minutes before the examination, boxes carrying the test papers were found to be tampered and the seals were broken.
The papers were in custody of the State Bank of India and Allahabad Bank branches in Ghaziabad.
Following the recommendation of Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ranga Rao, the exams were cancelled and have been re-scheduled for July 20.
