Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Slashed By Rs 69.50: New Rates Announced
Oil Marketing Companies on Saturday announced a reduction in the prices of 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinders across the country, effective immediately. The new rates have been revised downward by Rs 69.50, bringing the retail price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi to Rs 1,676.
This recent price cut follows a previous adjustment on May 1, 2024, when the cost of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders was reduced by Rs 19. These successive decreases indicate a positive trend for businesses facing high operating costs amid economic challenges.

On May 1, oil marketing companies reduced the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 19 per unit. The retail price for a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was then Rs 1,745.50 in Delhi. In April, the price had already been cut by Rs 30.50, bringing it to Rs 1,764.50.
As a new month begins, LPG cylinder prices are adjusted. The government continues to implement various schemes to promote the use of LPG cylinders for cooking in homes, such as the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which offers subsidies to eligible families.
The Opposition, led by the Congress, has often criticized the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre for not controlling fuel prices and the resulting impact on the prices of essential food items and other commodities.
While the exact reasons for the price decrease have not been disclosed, factors such as fluctuations in international oil prices, changes in taxation policies, and supply-demand dynamics likely contribute to these adjustments. Revisions for both commercial and domestic LPG cylinders typically occur on the first day of each month.
