NEET UG paper leak protest in Nagpur seeks Dharmendra Pradhan resignation

The Cockroach Janata Party plans a protest at Samvidhan Chowk in Nagpur on Tuesday, calling for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign over the NEET UG paper leak. Police in Nagpur increased security ahead of a Cockroach Janta Party protest at Samvidhan Chowk on Tuesday. The party is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET UG paper leak scandal. Officials said they expected a large crowd, after founder Abhijeet Dipke was allegedly assaulted in Jaipur on Monday.

In a social media video message on Monday, Dipke said Abhijeet Dipke would reach the city on June 16. Dipke urged Nagpur residents to join a peaceful demonstration. Dipke also called on students and young people to gather at Samvidhan Square at 4 pm.

Organisers said Dipke will hold a press conference at 12 noon before the protest. Police said more than 2,000 youths may take part in the afternoon gathering. Activists from Nagpur and several Vidarbha districts are likely to arrive. Officials said appeals on social media led to wider participation plans.

An official said police increased checks and presence at key points across Nagpur. A senior officer said, "We have made comprehensive arrangements to ensure that the protest is conducted peacefully. Adequate police personnel will be deployed at Samvidhan Chowk and other sensitive locations to maintain law and order,\" and added that planning matched the expected crowd size.

Police detailed the deployment for the protest area and other sensitive places. The force includes four DCPs, three ACPs, 18 police inspectors, 45 APIs, and sub-inspectors. Officials also listed 470 male and 170 female police personnel. Two Riot Control Platoon RCP units remain on standby as a precaution.

Police Commissioner Ravindrakumar Singal said police will allow lawful public protests. Singal said, \"Everyone has the right to protest peacefully. However, any attempt to violate the law, create unrest, or disturb public peace will not be tolerated. Strict action will be taken against anyone found breaking the law,\" and asked people to follow rules.

Traffic diversions in Nagpur during Cockroach Janta Party protest

Traffic police announced diversions on major roads linked to the protest zone. The list includes Samvidhan Chowk, Variety Chowk, Zero Mile, and Sitabuldi. Motorists were advised to take alternative routes and cooperate with police. Authorities also appealed for calm conduct to avoid any untoward incident during the event.

The heightened alert followed an incident earlier on Monday in Jaipur, police said. Dipke was allegedly slapped multiple times by two men during a protest. Supporters were carrying Dipke on their shoulders at the time, officials said. Police said two youths were detained in connection with the alleged assault.
