Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Engages with Indian Diaspora in Spain, Proposes Cultural Centres Like Park Guell
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed that the Indian community in Barcelona made him feel as if he were back in his hometown, Ujjain. This sentiment was shared during his visit to the renowned Park Guell in Barcelona, where he envisioned similar attractions being developed in Madhya Pradesh.

Yadav's official trip to Dubai and Spain from July 13 to 19 included meetings with prominent business leaders. He highlighted Madhya Pradesh's investment-friendly policies, emphasising the state's transformation into a robust platform for investors. "Today, development and investment are progressing hand in hand in the MP," he stated.
Investment Opportunities and Cultural Connections
During an interaction with the Indian diaspora and the ‘Friends of India’ group, Yadav remarked, "Wherever Indians go, they stick to their traditions and festivals with dignity. This is not merely a dialogue but a heartfelt connection." He also noted that Indians abroad serve as custodians of Indian culture.
The Chief Minister announced incentives for investors, such as offering 25 acres of land for just Re 1 to those establishing medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. This initiative aims to improve healthcare access in rural areas. Additionally, hotel projects worth Rs 100 crore can receive financial assistance up to Rs 30 crore to boost tourism infrastructure.
Tourism and Infrastructure Development
Yadav admired Park Guell, a UNESCO World Heritage Site designed by Antoni Gaudi, for its blend of nature and architecture. He noted features like the dragon staircase and the serpentine bench adorned with mosaics. He suggested that Madhya Pradesh could develop similar theme-based artistic parks.
The government is also focusing on expanding the IT sector into smaller cities, with dedicated policies and support structures for each sector. These efforts aim to create a supportive ecosystem for investment across various industries.
Yadav described Park Guell as a model of urban beautification and culturally rich public spaces. He believes that integrating traditional art into such parks could enhance Madhya Pradesh's cultural landscape.
The Chief Minister's visit underscores Madhya Pradesh's commitment to fostering investment and cultural ties globally while enhancing local infrastructure and opportunities.
