CM Shinde Urges Women to Strengthen His Political Stance for More Aid
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde urged women to support him politically to enhance financial aid through various schemes. This appeal was made during a Rakshabandhan event where hundreds of women gathered to tie rakhis to him. Shinde stated, "My sisters, women in the state have substantially contributed to the state’s economy. As I gain more political influence, I am committed to expanding financial support for women."

Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme
On August 17, the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra officially launched the 'Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme for eligible women. Shinde hinted at doubling the monthly stipend from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 if the alliance wins the elections. The CM mentioned he has already fulfilled his promise by disbursing two instalments of the scheme and ensuring its successful implementation.
Shinde's call for support came with a promise of increased benefits. He said, "I appeal to women to rally behind us. They should not listen to those who opposed the Ladki Bahin scheme." This statement was made at Varsha bungalow, his official residence in Mumbai.
Umed Campaign's Reach
Officials close to Shinde revealed that nearly 1 crore women associated with the Maharashtra government’s Umed campaign will send rakhis to the CM from across the state. The Umed hope campaign has connected nearly 84 lakh women so far. Shinde expressed his desire to increase this number to one crore soon.
Shinde assured that the benefits provided through the Ladki Bahin scheme are permanent. He stated, "Till date, 1.04 crore women registered for the scheme have received Rs 3,000 each in their bank accounts. As the number of beneficiaries continues to increase, each eligible individual will receive the designated amount as well."
The Chief Minister's commitment to women's welfare is evident through these initiatives. By seeking their political support, he aims to further enhance financial assistance and ensure broader reach and impact of these schemes.
The event highlighted Shinde's dedication to empowering women economically and politically. His efforts reflect a broader vision for inclusive growth and development in Maharashtra.
